I was born, raised, and schooled in England. I have worked in Africa and the Middle East since 1962. I first came to Nigeria during the civil war. I have worked in banking in Sapele, Port Harcourt, Ibadan but mostly in Lagos.
In 1989, I set up a merchant bank. I spent eighteen years in oil & gas sector helping to set up Nigeria's most successful indigenous oil & gas company. I am now on my third start up.
I was a founder member of Lagos Angels Network. I have been a member of the Ikoyi Club for more than fifty years, and of the Metropolitan Club, and the Lagos Yacht Club for more than thirty years. I still sail every Saturday, weather permitting.

Married with grown up daughter and son who live and work in the UK but travelled with us and schooled in China and India. My wife Jayne divides her time between the UK and Nigeria.
I enjoy the energy of Nigeria and the vibrancy of Lagos and having lived in China and India; the lack of infrastructure feels more natural than had I come directly from the UK. The frustrations are clearly that the country should be more advanced as it is blessed with natural resources, fertile soil and the perfect climate for producing crops. Nigeria has an incredibly positive and energetic population who still manage to laugh and smile while facing extreme adversity, which I greatly admire and respect.
